That's a good action pic. It was also sporting Miata wheel spacers for good measure.
I'm looking forward to coming back in May with more power, more aero, and fresher tires.

The United States might be one of best-known examples of a melting pot, but Ben Lewis’ Opel GT comes a close second.
When we last saw Ben’s low-buck racer at the 2019 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge, it sported a turbocharged SR20DET engine from Nissan, a Volvo differential, a Honda radiator, a Subaru fan and even a fuel pump from Chevrolet.
In total, the Opel weighed some 2100 pounds and was even good for “at least” 210 horsepower.
What is the $2000 Challenge? It’s our annual low-buck automotive festival that celebrates autocross, drag racing and ingenuity, which returns to Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida, on a new weekend for 2023, May 27-28.
The real challenge is in the event's name, however, as entries are required to prepare their vehicles for less than $2000. Each of these sub-$2000 cars will compete in autocross and drag racing sessions followed by concours judging the next day.
Rather see if more money equals more speed? Over-budget builds are also allowed to enter. Need more time to get your build ready? Spectators are welcome, and there will also be a Hagerty Cars & Caffiene, swap meet, model car concours and even a post-event track day at the Florida International Rally & Motorsport Park.
Think your low-buck racer or over-budget car is up to the challenge? Enter your build here, and learn more about the $2000 Challenge at 2000challenge.com.
The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge is presented by Tire Rack, in association with CRC Industries and Miller Electric, with trophies from ACI Automotive & Performance.

In reply to Bigben :
Is there a build thread?
Mine is going to be a hot mess of a mix of VW, Porsche, and Audi.

I've got a thread on the engine swap over on OpelGT. Com and one on the rear axle swap. The build has continued to evolve from there and some of that progress isn't well documented. I started a GRM build thread haven't touched it much. I suppose I should go update the GRM thread with links to the others.

Here you go.
Follow the links in the first post for the "meat and potatoes."
In reply to Bigben :
I creeped you over there on OpelGT, but did not find the thread, thank you.
I find it sad, but I dislike that forum so much. Too much "search noob" when their search sucks, ergo, they can suck it.
Way better that you put it here.
In reply to preach (dudeist priest) :
I have a same problem with the seach engine on pretty much every forum I use, so I either scroll the subfolders or usually just use Google. I don't think I've ever found much using forum searches. They are very knowledgeable over there and there are some very helpful guys, but there are also some naysayers and ones that will help after they've given you a hard time.
