IMSA announced today that NASCAR drivers Bubba Wallace, John Hunter Nemechek and Corey Heim will be competing in the BMW M Endurance Challenge–the first IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge race of the season–on January 26, ahead of the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona.
All three drivers, under the Smooge Racing banner, are set to co-drive the No. 23 Toyota GR Supra GT4 Evo. The event marks the serious debut for both Wallace and Nemechek.
Smooge Racing also plans to field a second Supra GT4 Evo–No. 68–piloted by John Geesbreght, Kevin Conway and Corey Lewis.
“We are very excited to run two GR Supra GT4 EVOs at Daytona this year,” team principal Conway said. “Having Bubba, John Hunter and Corey in the (No.) 23 car is a major honor and testament to Smooge Racing.
“I’m also looking forward to racing with John Geesbreght and Corey Lewis in the PRAX Leadership GR Supra,” Conway added. “John and I have had a lot of success together and we are looking forward to building on that at Daytona.”
The green flag for the BMW M Endurance Challenge is set to drop on 1:45 p.m. on January 26. For more information, visit IMSA.com.
