This past weekend publisher Tim Suddard was invited to Chattanooga, Tennessee, for Fifty Plus Racing’s Endures for a Cure Alzheimer’s Benefit. The battle against Alzheimer’s is near and dear to our hearts. Just this past year, the Suddard family lost Tim’s father to the disease. As such, Tim received an invitation to attend from none other than Brian Johnson, himself. The front man for the legendary rock band, AC/DC, is a bona fide car nut and HSR racer who has also been affected by Alzheimer’s through AC/DC founder Malcolm Young, who was diagnosed in September this year.
The event also featured names like Brian Redman, Senator Bob Corker, former Deputy Governor Claude Ramsey. Also in the spotlight was the Highway to Help Daytona Prototype, campaigned by Fifty Plus Racing, a fittingly named racing team with all drivers over the age of 50.
Through the evening, a silent action was held to benefit Alzheimer’s research. The donation of items such as one of Brian Redman’s driving suits and a Chopard watch managed to bring in almost $100,000 to benefit the cause.
