not a good weekend for motorsports

Champion co-driver Erin Kelly passed away on Friday, July 14, during the final stage of the New England Forest Rally. She was 48.
At the time of the incident, Kelley was co-driving with longtime driver TJ Pullen. The two have competed together for many years, winning the 2018 ARA East Regional NA4WD championship.
Following the incident, organizers and officials canceled the remainder of the rally.
Those wishing to help the Kelly family may do so by donating to the RACEAID Fund in her name.
A number of us here on GRM knew her well. And while she loved rally, Erin was also fabulous at crafty/artsy things and gardening, spent most of her life tending to sick and hurt animals, had excellent taste in music, a witty and sarcastic sense of humor, a constant smile, a love of life, and was generally just a wonderful person.
My only regret about knowing her is that the last time we hung out we all drank this unnaturally-fake-looking cider out in the country near where she lived (no, no regrets). That was last month, and while not much rally discussion took place, she was clearly looking forward to heading up to NEFR to try to improve upon a disappointing finish the previous time.
