What's an automotive festival that celebrates autocross, drag racing and ingenuity, and is now only two weeks away? That’s right, the 2023 Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack.

Not ready to race yet? Don’t worry, there are still plenty of ways you can participate in the May 27-28 event at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.

During the $2000 Challenge concours on Sunday morning, our friends at Hagerty will be hosting a Cars & Caffeine event. Drive your cool car, enjoy some free coffee and donuts, and check out what the rest of the $2000 Challenge competitors have built.

Registration is free, and all cars are welcome. Includes free spectator entry (Sunday only) for everybody in your car. Attendees must preregister due to our limit of 500 cars. Preregistration for Hagerty Cars & Caffeine is through the same MotorsportReg page as the Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge–which can be found here.

This was fun last year–another way to be involved with the event. I plan on returning with the Garage Rescue Miata.

Despite what my registration claims the Tube frame 13B MG Midget will be there this year.
