Break out candles, the Lane Motor Museum celebrates its 19th anniversary today.

Located in Nashville, Tennessee, the Lane Motor Museum opened its doors in 2003 with some 85 cars.

Fast forward to today, and the museum now boasts well over 500 cars in its collection–with plenty more seemingly on the way.

Colin Wood and the Lane Motor Museum sharing a birthday? There must be something special about this day. Happy birthday to both!

Happy Birthday to the Lane!  Once having been on the cover of Braking News is one of the things I'm most irrationally proud of.

20 years ago some friends and I road-tripped down to Nashville to meet with Jeff Lane, who was nice enough to show us around the museum he was getting ready to open. Jeff regaled us with memories of rally racing old Volvos ("Volvos FROM HELL") and telling us about his current favorites in the collection. He was a gracious host, and let us drive some of his oddities around in the parking lot, including a tiny Scootacar that broke down while joyriding around carrying two of my rather large friends. What a blast! Glad to see it's growing and still delighting gearheads from around the world.

Happy Birthday Lanes. One of these days I'm going to get there on the right day for a visit. I've been to nashville a lot over the years but it's always been on a day when you weren't open.

I'd love to go back and see how much the collection has grown since I visited in 2011.

Such a cool place and if you can swing it do the Rally for the Lane.  Getting to drive an old/odd car with my dad is one of my altime favorite memories.

We visited this summer and it was absolutely fantastic!  I'm not sure I saw 500 but my bet is that they rotate what is on display.

In addition to a fun museum, they have a super quirky gift shop with very fair prices.
