How to Build a Carbon Fiber Wing | Your $2000 Challenge Cars

Since last year’s $2000 Challenge, forum user Robbie has been working to improve his already wild Datsun Roadster–which won the Concours, Best Engineered and Challengers’ Choice categories–by adding a custom-fabricated carbon fiber rear wing.

Robbie was able to score two yards of raw carbon fiber for only $40, but the big challenge here is correctly molding it the right shape for the application.

In what might be typical GRM forum fashion, aerodynamic gurus like contributor Steve Stafford weighed in to help with the wing’s design.

Read more about the latest upgrades for Robbie’s formula-powered Datsun Roadster over on the “Datsun Roadster: 2020 Challenge Build” thread. And, if you haven’t already, go and enter your low-buck racing machine at 2000challenge.com.
