Lancia revives famed “HF” logo, teases likely return to rally

If it had to be a Lancia, and it had to be fast, you needed to be familiar with two letters: HF.

Originally introduced in the early ‘60s by a group of passionate owners who referred to themselves as the “Lancia Hi-Fi club,” the HF logo was soon affixed to the more sport-oriented models in Lancia’s lineup.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Fast forward to 2024, and Lancia has brought back the iconic logo, little elephant and all, to be used on all of Lancia’s forthcoming high-performance cars–starting with the new, all-electric Ypsilon HF–and maybe even on a rally car in the future:

“At the occasion of the debute of the movie Race for Glory in the major Italian theaters, I am delighted to unveil the new HF logo, which will make its debut on the New Lancia Ypsilon HF, before being used on the future high-performance versions of the brand. After the presentation of the New Lancia Ypsilon, the first car of the brand new era, today we take another step ahead in the path to Renaissance, to emphasize the brand most brutal and radical soul and its commitment to focusing on performance models.” stated Luca Napolitano, Lancia brand CEO. And he adds, 'Will we return to the Rally? We are working on it.'"

While Lancia hasn’t (yet) announced any plans to return to the North American market, it’d be great to see Lancia back out in the dirt and mud like the good ol’ days of Group B.
