The GRM editorial crew is off to do some track testing Friday at our official test track, the Florida International Rally and Motorsports Park in Keystone Heights, and we’ve got some interesting candidates ready to challenge the FIRM’s 10 turns.

First up, we’ll finally sample the six-speed version of the latest Toyota GR86. You may recall the automatic BRZ shocked us with surprisingly good performance, pulling from corner to corner nearly as hard as a Honda Civic Type R. Will the six-speed version be faster still, or is the automatic the unexpected sleeper pick?
Next, we’ve got an exciting opportunity to challenge the top production car on our leader board–the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z51–as some generous and trusting readers, Kerry Lee and Beachside Garage, are loaning us their Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 for a few instrumented laps. Will the mighty Z06 be the car to finally best the Z51 C8's 1:16.16 lap time?
Finally, our 2017 VW GTI project is vying to break through the 1:20 barrier and head into supercar territory with a set of Bridgestone RE-71RS tires and a brand-new intercooler that will hopefully stave off heat-related power loss for as many laps as possible.

I checked with the FIRM and it looks like no charge for spectators, but you'll have to sign a waiver. We usually park in the shade over by the old NASA bus (not that we'd be hard to find, but, you know, just trying to be helpful).
Having "fun" in the garage. Volkswagens are great.

You guys must all have air-conditioned shops down there, I don't know how you do it. I did my S52 swap in a gravel driveway in July/August in Oklahoma. But I was 27 and many fewer pounds then.
My BRZ desperately needs washed, but I can't bring myself to get up at 6am on a Saturday/Sunday to beat the current heat wave.
I have a window unit in the shop that knocks the humidity back and keeps temperatures around 80 degrees, Tim has central A/C, and JG has a big fan and open doors. A/C isn't a necessity here, but it sure is nice.
Batteries are charged, camera’s ready, and I’m heading up to bed in a min.
What time are you all starting today?
