One final day at the dry skid pad at Tire Rack’s headquarters in South Bend, Indiana. That’s all that separates us and the end of the 2024 Tire Rack One Lap of America Presented by Grassroots Motorsports.
Today's sessions saw teams compete at Putnam Park Road Course in Greencastle, Indiana.
Despite the track's long straight that favored some of the faster cars, our little One Lap CRX held its own due in part to the car’s well-suited aero setup.
Following the afternoon session, the latest results show us in 12th place overall–just ahead of Randy Pobst in a Camaro ZL1–and still leading in our class.
As for our friends in the SCCA, the latest results put the Club Spec Mustang in 41st place overall.
Unlike most of the other transits of the week, the trek to the final stop on the schedule is only 3 hours. That doesn’t mean we’ll be packing it in early, though, as you can expect to find us hanging out in the host hotel’s bar tonight with the other competitors.
Overall, Tom Suddard, one of our team’s drivers, reports that the CRX has held up well throughout the competition and is “tons of fun to drive.”
More to come from tomorrow’s final day of competition, and be sure to check in on the live thread for more updates.
