The 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata ND2, a radical turbocharged Datsun Z, and even a forlorn VW Fox Lemons car make an appearance on tonight’s edition of Grassroots Motorsports LIVE! presented by CRC Industries. We’ll take a thorough look at the latest MX-5. With 20 more horsepower than the 2018 model and the same stellar chassis, will it be the new standard in two-seat fun? We’ll also have a feature on a radical turbocharged and sequentially-shifted 240Z autocross machine from Canada, and look over our newest acquisition: A VW Fox that the previous owners ran with the 24 Hours of Lemons. We’re also hosting another edition of “What’s it Weigh?” presented by Intercomp where you can guess weights and win fabulous prizes.

Tune in with your questions and comments on our Facebook and YouTube hubs tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern.

Isn't that an Audi Fox (as opposed to VW)?

sooo excited to see the FOX! I had a 1993 VW fox 2-door 'woflsburg' edition when I was in high school. What a fun car!

I remember:

- it always smelled of the familiar 'there was once a heater core issue in here' smell

- it had "cruise control" (just put it in 5th and mat it, you'll mostly stay between 75 and 80 mph)

- it had very fast HVAC - hot or cold air would be coming from the vents in seconds after you started the car

- it had very neutral handling, meaning 4 wheel drifts were easy

I wish I would have known about autocrossing and stuff back then.
