Sure, we encourage the fastest and wildest cars to compete in the Tire Rack Ultimate Track Car Challenge Presented by Grassroots Motorsports, but that shouldn’t stop you from entering whatever four-wheeled track machine you drive.
What is the Ultimate Track Car Challenge? Simply put, it’s our annual no-holds-barred track competition that seeks the fastest machines around. It runs May 13-14 at Virginia International Raceway during NASA’s HyperFest weekend.
So whether you drive a Honda-powered VW GTI, an LS-powered Miata or even a stripped-out minivan, everyone is welcome to throw their hat in the ring.
Need some inspiration? Just look at what’s currently been accepted to run for 2022, along with all the cars that competed in last year’s UTCC.
Racing not your thing? Don’t worry, you can still experience the UTCC from the sidelines–as well as everything else HyperFest offers–by getting one of our exclusive GRM Experience packages.
For more information about the UTCC or HyperFest, visit ultimatetrackcarchallenge.com and hyper-fest.com, respectively.

That is kind of a fun shot. I was asked to pace an SCCA Track Night in America touring lap a few years back. I had a minivan press car. They told me not to go above 70 mph. I didn't. but I also didn't go much below 70 mph. A guy comes up to me afterwards and said, "man that was a lot faster than I thought it would be!"
