The photo effect is kind of neat. Is that some sort of tilt shift thing? (genuine question, I know nothing about photography)
Going into this past weekend’s Martin Sports Car Club autocross at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center, we figured that had a good shot at a second-place finish–largely because just two cars were entered in the class.
Then a third car entered.
But, hey, if a 1.6-liter Miata that made 113 horsepower at the wheels 21 years ago can still run somewhat near cars making more power, that’s good, right? And does anyone care where we finished if we had fun? Exactly.
This marks the eighth autocross since putting our Miata back on the road last winter.
One thing we failed to mention during our 1000-mile recap: Oil consumption has been like zero. We check the oil before each event because we like to worry about stuff, but the level remains right at the full mark. And that oil also looks golden.
We still have something mechanical to deal with (yes, foreshadowing), so more updates to come soon.

In reply to Brett_Murphy (Agent of Chaos) :
Just some good, old-fashioned Photoshop. I cut out the subject (in this case, the Miata) and blur everything else.
I'm glad you like it, as I think it really helps to make a photo pop, you know?
In reply to Jerry :
I do hear that. There are some to-do items on the off-season list. (Although, really, we don't have an off-season.)
And thanks, Colin, for tuning my lame photo into something eye-catching.
So, who wants to join us at the next Central Florida autocross?
