During our first big event at Barber Motorsports Park, we discovered that our Volkswagen Fox had a few issues that we missed during our shakedown at The FIRM.
The most glaring of these involved our transmission: During most of the race, we had to fight to keep the transmission in fourth gear. While we hoped that it was nothing more than a bad shift linkage, upon returning home we figured that we’d get the car on the lift so we could properly diagnose our transmission troubles.
While the car was in the air, we also conducted a full post-race check on crucial systems, like our brakes. (You can read more about our transmission here, by the way.)
