Sure, our Fox had a new engine courtesy a Jetta, but our work wouldn't do us any good if we didn't put our Lemons racer through a proper shakedown to see if we actually improved the car. Or not.
Where would we go to perform such a test? None other than the official test track of Grassroots Motorsports, the Florida International Rally and Motorsports Park.
What did we learn? J.G. probably summed it up best: "There are some awful things about it, but it is not awful." More specifically, we discovered the need for an oil catch can, and we confirmed that the location of our steering wheel was less than ideal.
