It looks good. Sounds bad. 165k and we need a complete rebuild.
Due to a rod knock that developed a few weeks ago, we’ve taken the Celica to Stu at BSI Racing for a complete rebuild. The engine will be built to SCCA’s Solo II rules and the factory specs. Luckily, we’ve got “before” dyno numbers and we’re eager to see what a fresh engine will pull.
In theory, the engine will be pulled out of the Celica this week and the rebuild will commence. We’ve set a “due” date for Stu as February 14, that’ll give us a week before the Ft. Myers National Tour so we can break in the engine reasonably gently.
