Here's a shot of the "before", you can see how the seats have faded a bit from black to greyish.

We did a little work on the Celica this weekend in the aesthetics department. First, we took the seats out of the car and shampooed the carpets, seats and floormats. When this was all dry, we masked off the grey portions of the seats and redyed (“Fabric Color” spray available at Pep Boys) the black portions of the seats. This took care of the fading that we had at the tops of the seats. We were very impressed how this $4 makeover really worked.

We also removed the rear wing from the hatch. Our thinking is that it was an option on this particular Celica and it’s six pounds that we don’t want on the car. We took some plastic plugs that we found at a salvage yard ($1), spray painted them metallic brown, and snapped them in the mounting holes for the wing.

A set of K6A compound Kumho ECSTA V700s are on their way for our competitive G Stock ride.
