I'm torn. On the one hand, we really, really need the garage space. On the other, I really, really love this car.
I'll be happysad to see it go.
The time has finally come! That turbocharged rotary-powered Mazda Miata we’ve been helping to complete is done and being auctioned off on Bring a Trailer as we type type this news item. All proceeds from this auction will be donated to Carly’s (Mike’s daughter) education fund. Don’t know who Carly and Mike are? For the full story behind the build, click here.
Thank you to the dozens of readers and family members who took the time to lend a hand along the way. We would also like to thank Toyo Tires, Treasure Coast Miata, Flyin’ Miata and Hard Dog Roll Bars for their generous parts donations used to complete this project.
Don’t have the scratch to buy a rotary Miata, but want to donate a couple dollars to Carly’s college fund? You can donate right here.

I think you should buy it. There should be a grm museum and this should be in it.
I considered it, but honestly I hope this car goes for far more money than I have to spend.
I think Mike would be proud to see his creation finished and used, but I think he'd be even prouder to know that his creation helped send his daughter to college.
We talked about buying the Ro-spit back for that museum as well. We know where the Berzerkely is too. I was thinking of bidding on this car, as it is really cool, but I think I will stay out of it. I have 8 project cars backed up between the two magazines right now. You can't keep them all, keep them all running, or store them all. Sad truth of my life.
In reply to Tim Suddard:
Truth of my life as well. I sadly sold my Mini yesterday, and my life would be much easier with one less car.
I placed a bid anyway...
