Update by Tim Suddard to the Mini Cooper project car

While our Cooper S has been seeing a lot of action on race tracks around the Southeast, our lowly base MINI (remember, this is the fastest Solo II MINI in the country) has been busy racing in Buccaneer region’s STS class. While only a few changes have been made to this once H-Stock MINI, they’ve been enough to keep our drivers on the top of the heap at every event we’ve attended. It’s also been a super-reliable daily driver for Tim.

We have been running the MINI Cooper on 15x7 Kosei K-1s that have 205/50/15 BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD tires mounted up. This is a pretty good combo for the car, offering a good footprint, quiet ride and some serious stick. We’ve also put the Mini Mania cold-air intake back on the car (we dyno’ed it in our first installment of the car) and that’s about it so far.

We’ve got a rear anti-rollbar that is waiting to go on (busy busy busy) and we’re also looking for a pair of bolt-in camber plates to solve one of the major short comings of the stock MINI, no factory camber adjustment).
