The 818 chassis has arrived at the Very Cool Parts shop in Alabama. We're on our way there to work on it.

The Factory Five 818 should be one of our most interesting project cars to date. This lightweight component car should have performance rivaling most super cars with a price tag rivaling most econoboxes.

To help us build a car this special, we’re headed up to Very Cool Parts in Enterprise, AL. This company is Factory Five’s top assembly shop, so we know we’re in good hands. Starting tomorrow, expect daily web and video updates as we build the very first 818.

Tom, do you know off hand the weight of the wrap that was put on the 818? My glider needs paint and I think a 30 ft. long hawk with a 60 ft. wingspan would be GREAT !!

Thanks, Dan

I don't know off hand, but I'd have to think it weighs about the same amount as paint. It's only one coat, after all.
