I like the idea of a track night. Things are always more fun in the dark, and cooler when you're not cooking in the sun.
We received an invitation to the Palm Beach Driving Club, which holds weekly "track nights" at Florida's Palm Beach International Raceway.
The track night was both fun and motivating—our car was the slowest one on track.
We’d been itching to get our BMW M235i back out on track, and luckily the opportunity presented itself: an invitation to the Palm Beach Driving Club, which holds weekly “track nights” at Florida’s Palm Beach International Raceway.
So, how was it? Tons of fun. Besides the hours of track time available, there was a gourmet dinner halfway through. Oh, and Shane Lewis was there to help out–how neat is that? We thrashed on the BMW for hours, and the car took it like a champion. Our Continental ExtremeContact DW tires held up very well, too–it’s amazing how far tires have come in just a few decades.
The track night was also motivating–our car was the slowest one on track, though not by too much. To be fair, we were competing in a field full of exotic cars and Porsches with cages.
Still, though, it’s time to order some hop-up parts.
