Fume issue fixed! Time to enjoy the car.
Project began in 2010. Drove it for 6 months and then tore it all apart. Lots of rust repair, repainted it SEM hot rod black, car was originally orange. The car had the SBC and the muncie in it when I purchased it, but it had been sitting for a long time. Engine is a 327 Chevy 4 bolt mains, balanced with ARP fasteners. I believe the muncie is an M22 due to gear whine in 1st through 3rd. I redid suspension with adjustable parts from T3 and Modern Motorsport, Tockico shocks, ground control coil overs. Previous previous owner had done the sbc conversion and also installed an r200. I replaced all bushings, stripped out sound deadening material, POR-15ed inside and under the car. After getting the bodywork, suspension, and drivetrain (wolf creak CV’s and Modern Motorsport 5 lug conversion) I attempted to drive the car from the garage I was working on the car to my new house with a one car garage. I almost made it, until the unsecured alternator wire grounded on the header and started an electrical fire. The electrical fire was minor but destroyed the wiring harness. Ordered a kit from painless and rewired the whole car. Wiring took the winter of 2012-2013 working sporadically. Got the car running and finished up the front 5 lug conversion by October 2013. Installed autopower 4 point roll bar, fiberglass dash, gauges and 4 point harnesses. Next issue was cabin fumes - hopefully have that cured as of last night with new hatch seals seam sealing and hole plugging. I have a carbon monoxide detector sitting in my passenger seat for my test drive tonight.
