1997 Saturn SC2

OK, here’s the deal. This is my 1997 Saturn SC2 that I bought in February 2000. It’s the DOHC motor with the stock 5-speed manual trasmission. No power windows, no cruise control, no power seats, no nothin’, and I like it like that. I’ve modified the hell out of this little car, though it doesn’t necessarily look like it. It runs great, drinks the cheapest, nastiest swill possible to call “gasoline”, uses very little gas at that (~40MPG highway), it’s impressively quick for the front engine front wheel drive econobox that it is, and it handles better than it should. I think it looks great, even after all these years I think the styling of the car is better than most any other “sporty” car out there. Nearly everything I’ve done to the car has been in order to make it more fun on back roads, road courses and be a car used to autocross in the DSP class. It’s probably time for me to move onto something else to use as a toy (who the hell has a Saturn as a “toy”, I know). I love this damned car. It’s just so damned chuckable. I’ve driven and owned other cars that will/can/have gotten me in trouble with the laws of both man and physics, but this damned Saturn hasn’t, and leaves me smiling like a schoolboy after a stolen kiss on the play ground. Built in 12/96 but with only 106460 miles on the car and owned by me since I bought it with 32K on the clock. This “Blackgold” car is about a shade “golder” than Subaru’s gold flecked black paint that was on the 04/05 Impreza cars. I’ve done a bunch to the car over the years and am not sure I’m remembering everything.
