2009 Dodge Challenger R/T

I have wanted one of these since I was a kid. Similar to the love at first sight with the 1994 Trans Am I saw 15 years ago, I knew I had to have one of these when Dodge started making them again. My car is a “J” package and has the six speed manual, 20” wheel, sunroof, and navigation radio options. Since getting it in December 2008, I’ve added a Roto-Fab cold air intake, 185 degree thermostat, severe duty 2 radiator with aftermarket fan controller, an external oil cooler with built-in thermostat from a Mazda RX-7, and aftermarket wider 20” wheels and Nitto “W” rated tires, and aftermarket HID headlights. My water temps run 188+/- 2 degrees vs. the 203-205 before, and the oil on a hot day will hit 185 vs. 215-220 before. The car is great! The radio works wonderfully, and the styling is tops. It is huge- 4” longer and wider than my Gen 1 Durango SUV. It of course does not have the power:weight ratio of my other cars, but it does well for what it is. It’s a shame the government is denying our kids the ability to have cars like these as new cars in the future. Hopefully, this will change.

Ive been looking at these. I hope Dodge keeps making them. Seems every car I get to liking dodge discontinues, ie Viper, Crossfire, Magnum. I am a dodge man but if this is not available I will probably end up with a used Vette. Always wanted one of those too. I have now a Chrysler Pt Cruiser with 2.4 Turbo, and a 2500 Crew Cab 4x4 with Cummins Diesel and Turbo.
