Love this. Please keep the tow bar on when racing!
was bought to compete in the $2005 Challenge. I think it may actually make the $2008 Challenge
My GLH is now for sale. It is a nearly complete Challenge Package minus combustion. …
Bitchin paint job. I hope it makes it in 2008! I have a killer set of "pizza" wheels that came off the Boss Hong if you need to borrow 2 to complete the set.
Some Shelby-Dodge love. I love it the paint scheme. Need to find some better wheels. Perhaps chrome spokes? LOL
I've got 'snowflakes' in a nice desert-storm-tan color to offset the paintjob as seen here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/problemaddict/Turbo%20Dodges/GRM%20GLH/P1010001.jpg <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v11/problemaddict/Turbo%20Dodges/GRM%20GLH/?action=view¤t=P1010001.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/problemaddict/Turbo%20Dodges/GRM%20GLH/P1010001.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> but some chrome 22's would look real bitchin'! hehehehe
The plan is for its initial foray to the dragstrip to happen this Sunday! can't wait. I haven't been racing in soooo long.... Wish me luck.
my typical luck continues. Got to the track w/ ominous clouds approaching. While swapping tires and going through tech, the rain seems to skip us by heading south. Sweet! I head for the staging lanes. Get in line and wait. More ominous clouds appear on the horizon. Racing continues, and i'm about 6 cars back from the start line when someone breaks. Track cleanup commences, but before they are through, the rains come.... I leave, head home, and when i get there an unhook the towbar, i start it up to move it into my driveway. Upon startup, the RPMs are screaming. I fear i may have blown an intake seal... grrrrrr... I have yet to confirm my suspicion, but if true, that means the whole head/intake/turbo assembly has to come off... And i thought i was ahead of schedule fo rthe Challenge! ha!
Turns out the intake leak was just a bolt that had fallen out. Its replaced now and there's another T-n-T this Sunday, and no rain in the forecast!
Successful day at the drags! 1st run, first time ever down the strip for this bag-o-bolts, 6psi boost.: 15.185@90.25mph. 2.116 60ft Car felt strong and ran well. Time for more boost! 2nd run, manual boost controller. Hadn't tested it, so i wasn't sure where it was set. Turns out it was right at 14psi. 14.020@97.54mph. 2.175 60ft. Nice! Car felt great, and soooo frickin' close to 13s. Thought i'd try to launch a bit harder and see if i could bring that pathetic 60ft time down and get in the 13s. 3rd and final run. 14.215@96.5mph. Launched harder and she stuck okay, but then spun up at the top of 1st gear. Short shifted and stayed in it. Car popped several times down the track, not sure if it was detonation or misfires. Gotta figure out how to launch on these BFG Drag Radials. A good 60ft will have me well in the 13s. Also gotta check timing and fuel to remove that popping before i pop a piston. Also have to get an alignment. Plus all these runs were made without a tach. Will have one before the challenge.... I'm thinking an alignment will give me a 10th, proper tire pressure will help. and with a tach, more accurate shift points may also be worth a 10th or two. Then with a sub 2.0 60ft i should be right where i need to be. I got some tweaking to do.....and 44 days to do it.
I haven't touched it since the challenge! haha shame on me... Although Cecil is coming up, right. I may have to hook up the OTC and fire her up to see if i can find something quick/simple, and then get to the track!
The roof spoiler from an old SAAB is what I use on my Omni. Its performance adding power is psychological ( like chrome). This may very well be the same rally Omni you've seen before. Especially if the other one was airborn. I love yer paint job. Doing the challenge again?
