Autocross has been one of my most rewarding pursuits but life has gotten in the way for several years. My location and responsibilities have changed recently with a move to the Boise, Idaho area. The group here is very welcoming and friendly. The “site” is minutes from my house! After attending a couple of events to watch and help out, I have the “Itch” again to start driving. I just need a car.
One of the guys here purchased a 1988 CRX Si with the purpose of saving it from the boneyard. It has a rod sticking out of the block, the typical Honda rust, and enough dirt in it to grow a harvest of potatoes (Idaho humor). It is the lightest year CRX and this one never had AC installed. It will probably end up in STS but it has all the factory parts to be eligible for Street class. For the time being, the plan is to clean it up and do a minor restoration. Making it a reliable sportscar and solid enough to autocross is the main push.
