Purchased from the estate of the original owner with 58K miles, it was in the words of a friend with a Porsche specialty shop “the most original 914” he’d ever seen. Not so much now. I’m a believer in preservation cars. But, I also think that if you’re going to do a project, you should start with the best example you can find. The latter school-of-thought won in this case. Most of the original paint is there, with spot painting of the flares, the fiberglass lids. The suspension has been updated with polybronze Elephant bushings, Koni shocks, Taret front swaybar and corner balancing. If I’m not TTOD on street tires, blame me. It’s not the car. Being as pretty as she is, she wins car shows and does track days and autocrosses. I was one of the original subscribers to AutoX and have been a subscriber to both GRM and Classic.
