GLE spec, for the non-Volvo people, is the 16v B234F variant of this classic boxy shape. 153hp from 2.3 litres with a mild stock cam leaves plenty of room to grow, but motivates the lighter-than-expected sedan plenty well enough as is. Tan leather interior and deep blue paint with chrome trim all over and sunroof for the summer make this a rather stylish ride indeed. Next mod, Eaton G80 locking diff. Then it’ll be time for a mild +t setup. Then comes the monster engine build, aiming for 500 to 700 hp @ the crank and 9 or 10 second passes with full interior on the stock diff. Sleeper supreme.
