1991 Suzuki GSF400 Bandit

Bought this after a father/son duo put a fair amount of mechanical love into it, (plus a hideous paint job!) only to have son lay it down after 50 miles. I’ve always loved smallbore screamers, and my formative years coincided with the late-80’s/early-90’s Japanese bubble economy with all its exotic forbidden high-tech fruit, so my schoolbook-margin doodles were of RGV250s, Bandit 400s, and the like. I rebuilt the carbs, sourced lots of little cosmetic bits, and painted the bodywork for a restoration on the ambitious side of a daily rider, but still enough short of concours that I can enjoy riding it. The sound of it winding out to 14,000rpm is a joy to behold, and encourages many repeats, even when not totally necessary!
