It is a Japanese-market 1992 Suzuki Goose 350. Think of it as a trellis-framed DR350/RGV250 mashup cafe racer. Suzuki hired the same designer who did the trellis-framed Gilera Saturno Bialbero. The engine is based on the air/oil cooled single-cylinder DR350 lump, but with a revised cylinder head and cam profile. Wheels/brakes/forks come from the RGV250 roadrace replica parts bin, and the styling was ahead of the curve for the return of the modern naked. The original Japanese owner used it for track days and installed a flat-slide Keihin, full-titanium Yoshimura exhaust, and a remote-resevoir Fox rear shock. I bought it from an interim American owner and I suspect it may have sat for a bit. I rebuilt the carb, replaced the petcock and fuel lines, tidied some wiring, and did a few small adjustments. I love the fact that it is totally unique; I’m pretty confident it is the only one in the U.S. I love the style. I dreamed up a custom-built bike before I knew the Goose existed, and when I saw this bike, I said, “There’s my dream bike! What? Suzuki already built it!” It sounds really mean, weighs next-to-nothing, and corners like nobody’s business.
