I upgrade this car annually. This year I changed its rear suspension to coil springs on 42” swingarms instead of its leaf springs to get a soft controlled ride. I set it up for airbags but they were short in travel, firmer than I wanted and would need to be located beneath a gasoline fill point which ended that idea.
Other changes: 1. returning to a mechanical fuel pump as my electrical pumps were louder than the engine. 2. making a place for my left foot. I cut a hole in its plywood floor and set a bread baking pan in it to make a recess for my heel below the clutch pedal. Comfort is greatly improved.
