Originally, this 524td came with a 2.4 liter 6-cyl turbodiesel engine and 4-sp auto transmission. I am swapping the 3.0 liter gasoline and 5-sp ZF manual transmission from a 2001 BMW 330i. The Dauphin Metallic paint has totally lost its luster (aka, clear coat!) but it is dent- and rust-free. Going for the whole sleeper thing. As of August 2021, the engine, trans and shifting mechanism is all mocked up, with wiring, exhaust and coolant system in the works. This E28 diesel chassis does not require a CA smog certificate…
