1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Resto-Mod

12

1986 944 TURBO resto-mod; aka “The Black Car.” If you are a Rennlist forum fan or PCA member you may know the car. Fast, furious, super clean. Restored in Arizona in 2002 for Street/DE, this car has so many modifications; it was just about new when completed in 2002. Have all the receipts listing big items and small from new clutch, wheel bearings, etc., to every hose, even nuts and bolts; from the restoration to date. OVER $50K total into this car! (I can prove it.) About the only things original after the restoration are chassis, dash and the block. Only 24,504 miles on the car since 2002! Engine: freshened 2.5L 8 valve with decked head w/wide fire ring gasket kit, lightened/balanced flywheel, baffled oil pan, 52# injectors, Garrett GT2876R Turbo, chipped with GReddy boost controller/MAF/fuel-air controller, Lindsey Stainless fuel hose, polished and extrude honed intake, 2 ½ Lindsey polished hard pipes, Tial wastegate, Fabspeed 3” exhaust system with their race-cat (DYNO 339 RWHP @ 17psi. I run it @ 1.2 BAR on track and feels like much, much more) Limited Slip Differential in 5 Speed Transmission with trans mounted billet short shift kit, real Big Red 993 brakes all around w/Pagid orange track pads and factory street pads, cool brake kit on front, Alcon cryo-rotors in front, new 944T S rotors in rear, Bilstein coil over struts & Weltmeister 250# springs in front with Racers Edge adjustable camber plates, M030 front sway bar, Bilstein shocks w/30mm torsion bars & 19mm anti-sway in rear, Fikse FM5 17” wheels, 8” wide on front and 10” rears, sunroof is deleted perfectly (with mint stock looking headliner), rear seat is deleted, replaced with two 8” subs in custom factory looking box, bolt-in half cage, Momo wheel, 968 door handles, 968 mirrors, GT-Racing vented nose valance & rear bumper cover, AIR front splitter and “Lemans” rear wing. Full paint job in ’02 and still perfect w/only a few rock chips. Armourfend on all front lenses for chip protection. Car is rock solid and reliable. Needs nothing. I have done 1:44 at Road Atlanta on street tires and I’m still an improving driver! Set for 1 degree positive rake and I run 2 degrees negative camber. Will run all day long with the best of ‘em in Group 4. Really turns heads on the street and few cars are its match. Email me for more photos and details.
