Oct 2, 2010 update on gunner's 1988 BMW M5 (E28)

an update

Being over on e28.com I am surprised at the great shape my car is in, despite the rust. it must have been under the car cover or in a garage a lot. it runs great. All I have done so far is replace tranny and diff fluids, and the grommets on the pass side internal air exhaust vent. trying to decide whether to use rust converter or rust inhibitor, or take it to a body shop and get the rust cut out and metal replaced. short term only. long term I will have the rust cut out.
