1973 Datsun 240Z

Been a project car for way too F&*(%@# long!! Got it 5 years ago for a very stupid $750 bucks. Fixed the fred flinstone fabrications floors, actually drove it with a warmed over L28 in it for a year , and now its in 2 pieces again…. A few passengers complained about the floors flexing and popping over cracks in the road and I suppose when seeing the ground rushing by thru the firewall/subframe rot its time to reconsider things. Spent some quality time with an angle grinder and fixed the subframe/fender/firewall areas. Working on some control arms too. Thinking LM7 V8 swap once I can afford a trans! ha

Know your frustration these 240Z were rusting on the ship coming over from Japan new.... My son and I restored one and watched odometer turn over from 199,999.0 to a perfectly aligned 200,000.0 WOW most cars when it flips take hundred miles before numbers line up and sometimes much more. Car we bought for 1500 was mechanically perfect huge sums spent by orig. owner over time incl. new not rebuilt carbs. BUT RUST OMG .. total floor cut out and new put in, dog legs, lower fenders, under rear hatch area and firewall pass. side and battery area and right frame rail... WOW so much welding work but my son being certified with own equipment only way we got it done so right. here are some links to car... we sold 3 years ago.. so wish we had not sold it but made good profit on it. Wish you much luck and yeah have seen many V8 converstions... and I drove one.. Nicely done! The pinstriping on the hood cowl is rad!
