I DEMAND SPECS!!! what motor? what rear? I am interested in doing something like this sometime.
Hey look comments! It does in fact have a nardi steering wheel, so it has to be a Midget. As for specs it will start life with a stock 12a, however I have a s4 turbo to put on it. The rear and uprights are from a 1986 Rx-7. Suspension is full custom. The steering system will be stock MG (rack, steering arms, column), and the body will be a midget. Thanks for the comments! Daniel
You got the stock rack to work with your suspension geometry? That explains the wide track. AWESOME RIDE. Can't wait to see more.
I love those cantilevered shocks, and from where I sit, looks like a zero bump steer setup up front. I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like a couple more pics. Beatiful work. I can't wait to see the FLARES!
The flares look amazing! You just turned a Midget from 'cute' to 'angry.'
Hi nc, that's a very impressive car you're building. Can you direct me to a good pace to get info. on pushrod suspension geometry?
I learned all I know about it from Allan Staniforth's Competition Car Suspension book, Carroll Smith's book series, and some from Race car Vehicle Dynamics by Milliken. Unfortunately that is ~$150-200 worth of books that librarys don't tend to have (sometimes you'll find competition car, and the Smith books). There is some information scattered about the web but nothing I've found too "comprehensive" perhapse if only we knew of some sort of web forum and perhaps magazine publisher that could create an article on them.. .. . If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me.
Yeah, I got a question for you: Did you terrorize you new subdivision with this thing yet?
I could of swore I saw a thread on how you did your flares but I can't find it. Can you post a link? I am helping a friend with a car and we need some big flares to cover a Supra suspension.
http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/metal-box-flare-construction-thread/30763/page1/ Here it is. Good luck and feel free to add your pics to the thread. I need to update it as all 4 are now mocked up and I'm going to be working again after our move to Illinois.
You'll need to log in to post.
