2004 Toyota Matrix XRS

6 speed autocross attack wagon. One of 10 or 11 ever made in that specific color/trans/trim combination in 2004. Only vehicle that allows me to sell hotdogs in between asphalt-tearing autocross sessions at over 8k RPMs! It isn’t very heavy, tipping the scales at only 2700 lbs. I am considering raising a baby narwhal in the trunk to make up for the lack of wagon-like heavyness. Currently runs on C-A/S tires (crap all season tires) all around, Pirelli P6 215/50 17 up front. Cosworth air filter in a modified Lotus cup-style airbox. And that is essentially it. Doesn’t body roll much (maybe because of the tires), and has plenty of power with a loooong first gear, and likes to step out the rear on corner entry or weight transfer. Looking forward to improving my times and getting to learn her a little better ;) It’s a tricky car to autocross even for a seasoned veteran. Crap transmission, slidy tires, and long gear ratios all contribute somehow.
