1988 Honda CRX Si

The new car is a 1988 CRX Si, the lightest year for STS. I still have the red car, but have changed over all the go-fast parts I can. The rear suspension is different, it required new race shocks, new sway bar brackets, etc. The front brakes pads don’t match the ‘90 and the seat bracket for the Kirkey had to be fabbed up. Even the race numbers had to be changed!

After going through most of the systems in the car and getting it ready to race it saw one Divisional Championship. As life unfolds, my small grandchildren moved in with us and my Sundays were less available to go racing. The car had declined a bit during the years it was used as a daily driver. When my weekends could be used for racing, I found myself acting pretty lazy when preparing the car and dealing with the little tasks to finish the mechanical work. I just sold the car to a 5 Time National Champion from Topeka. It's not exactly like giving away a pet you have had for several years, but it feels weird. It went to a good home.
