1972 MG Midget

This Midget is a solid, reasonably dependable driver. I figure it’s presentable enough, but certainly not a museum piece or trailer queen. It was a Nevada car before coming to Minnesota in 1978. My father-in-law had a foreign car shop, and bought the car and rebuilt the engine, keeping it garaged the entire thirty years since then. My dad and I got it running again in the Fall of 2011. We replaced the tires, gas tank, fuel lines, fluids, belts, hoses and brake hoses, then had the carbs gone over by a local MG guy. I drove it daily (except for replacing the clutch master cylinder, then the brake master two weeks later) during Summer 2012. It’s a blast! My two-year-old daughter loves it, and even gives it hugs sometimes. She calls it the “Go-go” because it looks like the cars in her “Go Dog, Go!” book.

Nice car and nice story. The early 70's Midgets are some of my favorite MG's.
