Cool car. I really dig the colour. Though I must say, that's the busiest MGB engine bay I've ever seen.
I was looking for a practical car. I had about $2000 to spend. I had it clearly in mind to get something good on gas, with modern features like air-conditioning and keyless entry. I even test-drove a Saturn station wagon. And then this popped up. It’s a ‘77 in an older repaint of the original BL Sandglow (a color shared with Camel Trophy trucks and the Princess James May had on Top Gear), 91,000 miles, overdrive transmission (which neither the previous owner or I knew about - the switch was broken) and generally a surprising lack of major issues! There’s some mud in the rockers (it’s an MG, of course there’s rust) but every place that’s important is dry and solid. In the month and a half between buying it and the weather turning foul I put over 4,000 miles on it and it just seemed to get better. My intentions are fully to have this as a daily driver from mid-April to mid-October. Had the honor of being Austin-Rover Online’s Car of the Month October 2008. Another plus - it fits under the security gate at the parking garage at work!
