Video: 30 years later, this Honda Civic Si is still hunting for more speed

How long does it take to perfect an autocross setup? A couple of months, maybe a few years?

For Chris Raglin and his wife, that number is 30 years–and counting–as the two have been competing with the same 1986 Honda Civic Si since the first weekend they owned it.

I always applaud people who stick with the same car for decades, because it's difficult to ignore those shiny new toys sometimes.

D Stock? Atlanta? 1993?

Did I run against this car?

Me too!

It gives so much more time for development...getting 150hp out of a mid 80's SOHC honda is really impressive. I see ITBs running to a cowl intake, some kind of COP setup, massive fuel pump(?) and he mentioned custom headwork, high comp pistons and some kinda of machine work for the integra transmission.

Just hundreds of hours of development time over decades.

I also noticed an electric water pump, and I'm interested in what all that stuff on the passenger floorboard is...

That's really impressive. At what point does the chassis fatigue though?
