Cool project. It would have been nice if they could have told us what their budget was. I've been drooling over FM's ND turbo Miata. This car seems like it's probably 1/2 the cost and 35% more HP. Unfortunately anything I buy/build would have to qualify for DD duty and be smog legal here in CA.

Watch the video and add up the costs. They said, $5k for the car, there's the 2.5l swap $500 plus whatever else the swap needed, turbo kit $4200, injectors, coilovers $1k, rad, axles, something to the transmission, lsd, aero bits, probably a clutch, rx8 hubs, wheels, plus misc. Probably $20k+ to have all of it, $16-17k to have a reasonable subset.

That was my thinking as well.  Everyone has a different definition of "budget".
