Video: Remember That Porsche Boxster-Based, Open-Wheel Race Car? Now It Runs

https://www.youtube.com/embed/AJt6sr31caY

Remember forum user Tamaren's project that turned a Porsche Boxster into an open-wheel, Formula 1-style race car? When we last left off a few months ago, Tamaren had the chassis mocked-up and the brakes in place. But now, the project runs and drives—it even makes some cool noises, too.

It doesn't have a body just yet, but that just makes it more fun to watch the mechanicals at work. The best part, though, is watching it run a few shakedown runs at a local track.

Wow. If he built a kit for that I would buy one. I always wanted my own vintage Formula car.

Very nice, I want that way more than I want a Porsche Boxster, even though they both share the flaw of using a lot of expensive Porsche parts cheeky Some high-quality fab work on the car too.

And if the car wasn't so awesome, his gaming PC could've stole the show!

His next project, with the Mercedes V12 going into a C3 Corvette, is going to be interesting.
