I'm putting up for sale the falcon I have in my readers rides. It's a 1963 4 door with the 144 i6 with the 2 speed auto. It runs great and is in decent shape. Not a lot of rust but there is some. The interior is rough but not bad. The previous owner re did the brakes so it stops great and I put new tires on it. I've put probably 1000 miles on it without it missing a beat. Dare I say reliable. It has its isssues its nearly 50 years old. Could use a tuneup some carve adjustment and bodywork to fix the rust but its straight and all there.
Bag it and be hip with the rat crowd
Restore it and have a nice old car
Mod it and turn it into a 60s NASCAR
Drive it as is and enjoy driving an old piece of iron.
Located in Mahomet Il. You could probably drive it as is anywhere and have a grand adventure but for safety I would tow it over any great distance.
I'll get pics up this evening.
Trade you for a '66 Jeep.
Yep that's the one. Things like that are hard to do on the phone.

I'll get some tonight. I have all 4 origional hubcaps (rare I guess) and it comes with some spares in the trunk I will inventory.
Honestly I would think it would make it on backroads. It's just with the 2 speed she will do ~70-75 flat out. 55-60 is much more her speed. Find some two-lanes to get there and it would probably get their cheap. the good news about these is they are small and light. It's about 2400lbs so if you needed to trailer any midsize SUV or even a Minivan would be able to flat-tow or tow dolly it.
Hmmm...if it was a two door, I'd be donning a jacket and stopping by the bank right about now.
If you had any interest in a '76 Goldwing for trade, though...we could talk.

I should NOT have looked at this. My favorite Falcons, in order, are the '66, '64, and running a distant third is the '63. That's a nice color combo (I'd restomod it if it was mine) and with a "slightly" more modern engine...maybe even a nice 4 cylinder to keep it light, it would be a fun car. But PUCK, I'm too far away, I think, to consider driving it a couple thousand miles on "back roads".
Ratsun has this $2,500 turquoise pickup that I like - only 2100 miles away from Chicago.
There is something about that color I like.

More pictures here.
That has "supercharged Zetec" written all over it... I'm in lurve!
I started it up yesterday for the first time in 2 months and it started right up. I washed it up vacuumed it out and generally made it look nicer. It's ready for its new owner come get it someone.
What if I were to drop the price to say... $1400? This week I'm on getting rid of it. Next week I may be back to wanting to keep it. So someone should just remove temptation from me.

My Dad bought one brand new in '63. Black with red bucket seat interior. 6 auto. I loved that car, but was a dog. Dad wanted more power, so he bought the first Mustang to hit his friends dealership. Unfortunately, he passed away a week before the Mustang arrived. Mom never took possession of it.
