I think this might be my first post, Hi ya'll! I'm not really big on posting up stuff on forums but I had to share this. I apologies if this is old news.

I'm not 100% this one is a boat. I find a Costco car to be pretty funny myself.

$90k? Sorry that looks like about $40k worth of stuff at most.

It doesn't include an engine or transmission. For $90k, I'd expect it to be turn key.

1) This user is still, IMHO, in pre-canoe phase. (I have no doubt that they will get there.) I didn't delete because I thought the car would be of interest.

2) It is an all-aluminum replica from Kirkham. Those guys are metal shaping gods. That body is not made out of stamped panels; they created it. This PDF has 265 pages of build thread goodness.

Personally, I prefer the willys coupe they made. I especially like the hod rod flames created by polishing the aluminum.

The factory five is a fiberglass car that you can race or cruise in. If you crunch a fender into a tire wall, buy some new fiberglass bits and move on. Handformed aluminum bodies are for pebble beach or similar venues. Different crowd, different purpose, different price range.

I posted it up because my moms out here visiting and looking for Black Friday sales and came across that ad. I thought it was pretty entertaining for Costco to sell a kit car.

My take on it is that Costco is irrelevant. This is a Kirkham replica. In the same way, if I was shopping for an L-6 bainite katana, i know that Howard Clark is the man. It doesn't matter if I buy it from Bugei.com or directly from him....he's the swordsmith, and what he's making is really rare.

If I had wanted you to waste time, I would have included a link to Howard Clarke's site and one to the swordforum review of his sword. He makes some really nice stuff

I just finished reading the chapter on Kirkham's metal shaping and forming for that all-aluminum Cobra replica they build..
