Good brakes, or horrible weight distribution / suspension design?
That's going to be a very interesting characteristic if there is any turning or off camber roads involved.
its impressive they can get the rear wheels up without a couple of pulses of the brake pedal to get the rear bouncing like we had to in a friends fwd olds 88, its a hell of a time to be alive
Well, they don't show the lead up to the rear tires coming off the ground. Maybe they did set it up by pulsing the brakes.
A high CoG and a short wheelbase helps. You can do the same trick with most Kei trucks, although you might need to do some bouncing to get it started.
I almost want to call BS on that video. As mentioned, they're careful about how the issue is shown, with no clear setup. Even the more complete runs aren't clear on whether they might be hitting a small bump. Just such a bump is shown toward the end, but interestingly it doesn't lift the tires in the only runs where you can clearly watch the approach.
Yeah, something smells a bit funny about that video. It doesn't even look like they were braking that hard. I'd be highly skeptical that a vehicle that lifted its rear wheels under light braking would pass all the safety regs needed in the US to hit the market.
If it's real, I smell one serious recall coming. Then I'd like to buy one of them for $50, stick a set of giant roll hoops extending from the front bumper, over the top and down to the back. Get it up to 60mph, slam on the brakes. Do a complete 360 roll over, land on your wheels and keep driving...like those toys they sell for kids.

For those worried that this test might've been rigged, it turns out others have done stoppies with Renegades:

In reply to Tom Suddard:
I really liked them when they first came out, but I just can't get past the tail lights.
It looks like a dead cartoon character.

That's exactly what I told SWMBO about them too!
Needs more anti dive.
