I'm sure some of you guys have a home made parts washer, could you show me how it was made? I'm not talking your dishwasher, as its already been covered.
I'm looking for a cheap parts washer myself.

That rules out my 5 year old daughter. She love's to help with car stuff
( I am bringing her up right?)
oil change pan, plus dollar store steel mesh kitchen strainer, plus simple green mixed with water (25% solution usually works well for a "strong" mix.) add parts to strainer and submerge in pan, stir with parts washing brush, lift strainer to drain. repeat as necessary. total cost is less than $20 including a gallon of simple green...
I put an old SS sink on top of a 10 gallon steel pail. The pail has a clamp for the lid, and the sink drain bottom nut is used to secure the sink to the lid. A submersible 110V little giant pump (pulled out of ther garbage at work) pumps the varsol.
I've had it for about 10 years. I'll post a pic when I get home.
I bought a real parts washer with 10 gal of fluid for $50 new a few years ago. I am sure you could find a similar deal or get something like this from harbor freight -

I am sure that you could make it with a storage tote from walmart as long as you didn't use any really nasty chemical in it.

Try adding a box of Tide for real cleaning.
Harbor Freight and National both have a small parts washer on sale for around $39. If I had the room, I would get the one from National Tool as it is metal. HF one is plastic.
I like the kitchen sink approach, I'll have to watch out in the trash for one.
I saw the HF one, yeah, I'm not liking it as much. I don't know national tool. Is that a website or chain store?
