Local-ish guy, bought some Escort parts off of him, he's a good dude, car is well cared for, i've seen it around from time to time.

Slow. I have everything i need, but i didn't quite finish it before Dragon Prep Crunch Time hit for the Celica.

The new tranny is on and set to go, but now it's got two flat tires and i have the suspension half apart. It'll be done in the next 2 weeks or so.

I've got the two heads i have partially disassembled to do the dual exhaust cam mod and see which one looks better, too.

As long as it's done by autox season, i'm fine with that. It'll be nice to have a car that might have snowball's chance at being competitive for once with the right driver.

I need to get pics up of the car and all associated with it.

I'm here in Lafayette if anyone needs me to check it out.

They are pretty competitive cars. I autox'ed my bp powered Protege LX a couple times and that motor is a screamer. On a long straight course, I was up near 6.5k and still had room to go. They will goto to 7500 rpm no problem. The gearing isn't so great on the highway. It buzzes at 4k at 70 or over.

Hmmmm the pics look like 4 bolt rims. I thought the Turbos had 5 bolt rims.... I could be confused though.

Early ones had 4 bolt, drum brakes in the back. 5 bolt was big disks all around. Nice car, but 924 turbos go cheap everywhere. They need intercoolers if you up the boost.

i really did the car, solid color, but blacked out...but i would slit my wrists if i lived in this neighborhood.

I'm probably going to have to pass, much as it hurts to do so. If i got this, the reality is that i probably wouldn't be able to make the trip to Deal's Gap next month, or if i do, it would be with my car in a state that i wouldn't be able to fully enjoy it.

I'll have either a beige or black interior form an 87 944 Turbo for sale soon. I'm toying with the idea of converting mine to black, but haven't decided yet.
