Not mine, etc.
This isn't easy but I need to sell my Mercedes project car.
Here is the craigslist add.
http://chambana.craigslist.org/cto/3407747387.html
I'm able to deliver the car within reasonable distance for the cost of fuel.
You can pm me or text call the number in the craigslist add.
The car is located in Champaign, IL.
This guy would probably let this go for $2500, not quite challenge money, but still an icon of a car for a pretty good deal. Oh, yeah, and the guy selling it is German and did his "University" at Mercedes-Benz.
Its got the right number of pedals and everything...the only MB I ever really wanted as my daily car. I hope a GRMer gets this
He is only 3 hours away! I have no money, sigh...
Good thing I have no spare funds. I've loved these since I was a kid.
I know the seller and have seen the car and can vouch for both. This car is in incredible condition save the cis issues. It is as described or probably better.
The seller is a stand up guy truly one of us.

He has to be. He has a primered Mercury Monarch with painted-on wide whites that looks like it's ready for a LeMons race.

That isn't his, but another guy who is one of us... That guy at one point had 11 RX-7's in his driveway, and currently is DD'ing a diesel Jetta. He actually lives in Florida now, and is a superb detailer.
Oh, the detailer also had an A-Team van as well.

Aw, I just bought a 560SEL and a 300E. I'd love one of these guys.

You dont think that the merc owner would have any interest in trading the cosworth towards an MR2 do you??

Highly doubt it... I don't think he is interested in trades. He recently sold a Miata and just bought an RX8. With a kid on the way, an MR2 wouldn't make sense at all.

But a Peugeot may make sense.
Yeah I'll vouch for the seller too. Super good guy.
I wonder how hard it would be to replace the CIS with megasquirt? Can you swap the injector cups like you can on a VW?
OMG THAT IS TOO EXPENSIVE I KNOW A GUY WHO BOUGHT ONE FOR $450 AND IT HAD BILSTEIN SPORTS AND IT WAS THE CAR THAT WON ITS CLASS IN ONE LAP OMG WTF
... but seriously, niiiiiice.

I hear that Martin Brundle, former Formula One driver, once stated that this car had one of the finest chassis ever fitted to a four door saloon.
its a ok deal but not a really great one you can buy nice running examples from 4k to 6k and then you see people who want 8k to 14k for them. there is a really nice one in NJ for 5500.00

Thank you, Captain Slow. Now you can spend the next 45 minutes of airtime forgetting your car has a dogleg first and stalling it repeatedly.

My wife is gonna kill me....
Is there someone local to this car that can check it out for me? I've always wanted one...
That is a hell of a car. If I had the spare cash I would buy it. I drove the E36 M3 out of one for years. Mine also seemed to have the Bob Costas magnet option.

Ok then, 510 guy.
I have a friend who had a perfect, immaculate, unbelieveably perfect '80 RX-7 Leather Sport that he was trying to sell for $4k. (It was actually the subject of one-a-them online magazine articles) He had a bunch of lowball offers because some guy's buddy bought one for $300 and the only difference was it was rusted out and wasn't an LS and it didn't have an engine, but other than that it was the same.
PS - I really do know of a Cossie that traded hands that cheap. It also had a roll cage to hold the floor together.
