Pm sent. Let me know if you don't receive it.
If you’re going to drive down for it let me know, i have a shifter for stampie that i may ask you to leave with jeremy for me.
If time/schedule allows I'm thinking we'll be flying down. If we're willing to fly allegiant there's some sub 100 fares, possibly 60ish.
I'm checking what tools I can get in a 7x15x16 bag, but I should have some extra room, I don't see a weight limit for personal items. How big is the shifter?
SWMBO felt much better about traveling without as many tools once I told her about the grm road support network. A ride to the closest harbor freight is worth it's weight in sockets.
Overdue update time. Sorry for the delay, a couple failure investigations at work in addition to having to move offices have left things a little hectic around here. Throw in a few holiday weekends and I'm not sure where the last month went. I also don't know where my mouse went...
SWMBO and I shall be flying down to Jacksonville this Friday evening to acquire this fine automobile from pimpM3. Plan is to meet up with Jeremy Saturday and then start the drive back to Ohio. We will likely stop somewhere on the way back to keep this trip enjoyable, but I haven't planned that far ahead.
Patrick - I'll PM you my number so we can set something up for that shifter.
Stampie - if you happen to be free Saturday we'd love to meet up for lunch. If not, I can either leave the shifter with Jeremy or drop it off at your place.
If anyone needs anything moved between Florida and Cleveland or anywhere along the way let me know. We will likely be taking 95>26>77.
Have stampie take you to the seafood place he took me to. Best fried clams ive had anywhere in the country.
Also, build thread!
Dead sled now has a shifter and now knows what’s happening to Darth Nader before the challenge. Zero dark challenge time though so no build thread updates from here on out. You guys know what it looks like, you can see it on October 13th.

Yes, that 77. It's looking like we might stay the night near Charlotte if we don't cannonball it home. I'd be more than happy to bring some parts back up here for Patrick.
I now have Stampie's shifter. Hadn't really thought about it until SWMBO asked, but I hope they'll let me thru security with the shifter in my carry on. For some reason there's no TSA rule about shifters but they do limit tools to "less than 7 inches" and I'm guessing the shifter is longer than that. SWMBO did offer to have me drop her off and let her try to get thru security while I park the car incase I need to come back and leave it in the car, tho that assumes they let her take it back outside.
Im 5 foot 6. Apparently im too big a tool.....
Let me know! Ill try to meet up with you either way. Number is 828-260-1254
Shifter made it thru security without me getting strip searched . They did want to check it out tho.
Take off scheduled for 550. Scheduled to land at 8. Got a $20 rental car and an Airbnb on the Southside of the city.

Don't you hate when they won't let you have fun? Let me know what's happening tomorrow. We're loading up a large arcade machine mid morning but hope to be done in time for lunch as we're fat boys and fat boys don't skip lunch.
Finally made it to our Airbnb, we literally spent more time in the rental car line than on the the flight. Plan is to meet Jeremy around 1030 and get the truck stuff out of the way so we should be free for lunch. I'll text you after we finish up at the lot with Jeremy?

Well consider it payback for your recent trip, tho I don't think it's anywhere near as interesting. I told SWMBO about your trip on the plane and she thought it sounded fun. Then I told her you have 5 kids you took with you and she said you're insane.
Since everyone loves pictures and I have no better ones to post, have a picture of stampies new shifter from when I was cleaning it up. This was before I took it apart to make it seem like less of a weapon. I should probably see if I remember how to reassemble it
So I'm an idiot and stomped on it jumping back on the highway and I'm currently in brunswick ga with a blown heater hose. Anyone know if you can bypass the heater core on an s10 without issues?
You'll need to log in to post.
